Volcano Observatory (2D)

A magma-chamber pressure model drives live seismicity, SO2 flux and ground-deformation readouts plus a color-coded eruption alert level — the real monitoring workflow a volcano observatory runs.

This 2D companion turns the 3D volcano scene into a working observatory dashboard: an adjustable magma supply rate and conduit strength drive a chamber-pressure model, which in turn feeds live seismicity, SO2 flux and ground-deformation readouts plus a four-color eruption alert level, with the cross-section view and scrolling seismograph trace visualizing the same numbers in real time.

⚙ Under the hood

Chamber pressure builds from a supply-rate/leak balance; seismicity tracks the rate of pressure change, SO2 tracks pressure directly, and ground deformation relaxes toward a pressure-scaled target — crossing the conduit-strength threshold triggers an eruption that vents pressure and spikes every signal.
