Biochar and Soil Carbon Sequestration (2D)

A side-on soil cross-section replacing the orbiting 3D scene: the same pyrolysis-temperature, application-rate, moisture and years-elapsed controls drive a readable carbon-decay curve instead of a rotating particle cloud.

This 2D companion drives the same biochar carbon-stock model as the 3D version — pyrolysis temperature sets the stable-carbon fraction and residence time, application rate sets the carbon input, and years elapsed decays the labile fraction exponentially — but reads it through a flat soil cross-section instead of an orbiting particle cloud, so the carbon-stock, porosity and moisture readouts stay directly legible while you drag the sliders.

⚙ Under the hood

2D soil cross-section model: pyrolysis temperature and years elapsed feed an exponential decay curve (C_stable = C0·f_stable·e^(−t/τ)) for carbon stock, with particle density and pore halos visualizing application rate and moisture.
