Simple Pendulum: Period, Mass & Length (2D)

2D companion: a single adjustable simple pendulum, RK4-integrated from its real equation of motion, with independent sliders for length, mass, gravity, damping and release angle so you can test directly what changes the period.

This 2D companion swaps the 3D version's fixed 18-pendulum wave array for a single, fully adjustable simple pendulum — matching the 3D page's own description ("adjust mass and length, watch how these affect period") with controls that actually exist. Length, mass, gravity, damping and release angle are all independent sliders, and an "Exact ODE" toggle switches between the true nonlinear pendulum equation and the small-angle approximation used to derive the classic period formula.

⚙ Under the hood

A single simple pendulum, RK4-integrated every frame from theta'' = -(g/L)sin(theta) - c·theta', with a small-angle toggle and live readouts for measured period, theoretical period and energy split, so length-vs-mass-vs-period claims can be tested directly rather than taken on faith.
