The Respiratory Quotient (2D)

A 2D companion lab: choose a fuel mix and watch stoichiometrically-correct O2-in / CO2-out particle flux compute a live respiratory quotient, gas-exchange volumes and a Weir-equation energy expenditure estimate.

This 2D companion drives the same stoichiometric fuel-oxidation model as the 3D lab through a flat particle-flux diagram instead of a rotating scene: O2 particles flow in from a lung node, CO2 particles flow out to an exhalation node, and both spawn on cadences set by each fuel's true molecular O2:CO2 ratio — so the respiratory quotient shown is measured each second from the actual particle counts, not read off a fixed label, and the added VO2/VCO2/Weir-equation readout turns that ratio into a concrete calorie-burn estimate.

⚙ Under the hood

Particle-flux respiratory-quotient lab: O2-in and CO2-out particles spawn on cadences derived from each fuel's true stoichiometric ratio, with a custom carbohydrate/fat/protein blend, adjustable metabolic rate and a live Weir-equation energy expenditure readout.
