This 2D companion solves the same Buckley–Leverett displacement physics as the 3D reservoir view through a plain finite-volume readout: a reservoir strip colored by water saturation, a live profile plot tracing the shock front from injector to producer, and readouts for pore volumes injected, watercut and recovery factor driven directly by a numerical upwind solve of the fractional-flow equation — not a decorative slider formula.

⚙ Under the hood

Explicit upwind finite-volume solver for the 1D Buckley–Leverett saturation equation, using Corey relative-permeability curves to build the fractional-flow function; CFL-limited sub-stepping keeps the shock front numerically stable across the full viscosity and residual-saturation range.
