Circuit Board City: PCB Power Delivery & Trace IR-Drop (2D)
2D top-down PCB power-delivery lab: real Kirchhoff nodal analysis over a trunk trace feeding seven parallel component loads, with copper-geometry trace resistance, live voltage-drop coloring, a P=I²R power-dissipation heatmap and a trace current-density safety check.
This 2D companion turns the 3D "Circuit Board City" skyline into an actual power-delivery-network analysis: a supply drives a trunk trace to a junction that fans out into seven parallel component loads, and every trace's resistance is derived from real copper geometry (width, copper weight, length, temperature) rather than decoration. Adjusting supply voltage, trace width, copper weight, board temperature or load intensity re-solves Kirchhoff's current and voltage laws across the network live, recoloring every trace by its instantaneous power dissipation (P=I²R) and flagging any trace whose current density exceeds a safe external-layer rating.
