Bioenergy: Anaerobic Digestion & Biogas CHP Simulator
Interactive biogas plant simulator: feed a digester with biomass, tune temperature, retention time and CHP efficiency, and watch first-order methane-yield kinetics drive a real combustion energy balance to electrical and heat output.
Bioenergy converts biomass into usable power through a chain of real physical and chemical steps, not just a market transaction. This simulator models one common pathway end to end: feedstock loaded into an anaerobic digester breaks down following first-order Biochemical Methane Potential kinetics, the resulting biogas carries a combustion energy value set by its methane content, and a combined heat and power engine splits that energy into electricity and recoverable heat at a fixed efficiency split. Adjust digester temperature, retention time, feedstock loading and CHP electrical efficiency to see how the methane-yield curve, biogas flow and final electrical/heat output respond — and where the biggest efficiency losses actually happen in a real plant.
Interactive biogas plant: feed an anaerobic digester with biomass, choose mesophilic or thermophilic operation, tune retention time and CHP electrical efficiency, and watch first-order methane-yield kinetics drive a real combustion energy balance to electrical and heat output.
