Chronic Venous Insufficiency: Ambulatory Venous Pressure & Compression (2D)
2D ambulatory-venous-pressure lab: a hydrostatic-column pressure model with valve reflux, a calf-muscle-pump ejection model, and a graduated compression-stocking counter-pressure gradient, driving a live leg cross-section and a real-time pressure-vs-time strip chart.
This 2D companion models the real clinical concept behind the 3D version — ambulatory venous pressure (AVP) — as a driven system: a hydrostatic-column pressure ceiling calibrated to the textbook ~90 mmHg resting standing value, a calf-muscle-pump ejection that only "sticks" in proportion to valve competence, continuous reflux refill through incompetent valves, and a graduated compression-stocking counter-pressure that both lowers the ceiling and augments the pump. Four sliders — valve competence, cadence, standing time and compression grade — drive a leg cross-section with animated valves and a live pressure-vs-time strip chart, so the difference between a healthy leg's fast pressure drop on walking and a CVI leg's stalled, chronically elevated AVP is directly visible rather than implied.
Hydrostatic-column AVP model (P = ρ·g·h, calibrated to ~90 mmHg) with valve-competence-gated calf-muscle-pump ejection, reflux-driven refill through incompetent valves, and a graduated compression counter-pressure that lowers the ceiling and boosts pump efficiency.
