🔊 Festival Sound Wave Interference (2D)

Real wave superposition from up to four festival speaker stacks — travel-time delay, stack spacing and delay-tower phase all feed a live sound-pressure field, with a draggable listener reading the resulting SPL.

This 2D companion swaps the 3D scene's festival-city dressing for the physics it names: a top-down sound-pressure field computed each frame as the real superposition of spherical waves from every speaker stack, each carrying its own geometric spreading and travel-time delay. Move the sliders to see constructive and destructive interference bands shift, and drag the listener marker to read the resulting relative SPL at any point in the crowd.

⚙ Under the hood

Superposition of spherical waves p = Σ Aᵢ/(1+rᵢ/R₀)·sin(2πf(t−rᵢ/c)+φᵢ) from 1–4 sources, with a stable phasor-sum readout for SPL at a draggable listener point.
