Doppler Weather Radar (2D)
2D Canvas PPI display of a pulsed Doppler weather radar: colour-coded radial velocity, the tangential zero-Doppler blind spot, and Nyquist velocity aliasing — the same Δf = 2·vr·f / c physics as the 3D original, drawn with plain arcs and gradients instead of a GLSL shader.
This 2D companion draws the same PPI radar physics as the 3D version — radial-velocity Doppler shift, the tangential zero-Doppler blind spot, and Nyquist-limited aliasing — with plain Canvas 2D arcs, gradients and a rotating sweep wedge instead of a WebGL fragment shader.
Pulsed Doppler radar simulated with Δf = 2·vr·f / c and Nyquist velocity vN = PRF·λ/4; a rotating PPI sweep colours each precipitation cell by its aliased radial velocity or reflectivity.
