Spin Glass Lattice: Bond Disorder & Metropolis Relaxation (2D)

2D Canvas Edwards-Anderson spin-glass lab: drag the bond-disorder probability from a pure ferromagnet to a fully frustrated spin glass, run Metropolis Monte Carlo dynamics, and read energy, magnetisation, order parameter q and frustration live.

This 2D companion runs the same Edwards-Anderson spin-glass model as the 3D/WebGL original — Ising spins on a square lattice with randomly signed nearest-neighbour bonds, updated by Metropolis Monte Carlo — but renders it on a plain Canvas 2D surface and adds a control the 3D version fixes at 50/50: the antiferromagnetic bond fraction p. Drag p from 0 (a plain ferromagnet, every bond agrees, no frustration) up to 0.5 (maximum disorder, the classic spin glass) and watch red frustrated bonds and the order parameter q appear in real time, rather than starting already fully disordered.

⚙ Under the hood

2D Canvas Edwards-Anderson lattice with a tunable bond-disorder probability p, Metropolis Monte Carlo spin updates, and a live energy/magnetisation strip chart alongside numeric energy, magnetisation, order-parameter-q, frustration and Monte-Carlo-sweep readouts.
