MRI Gradient Field & Slice Selection (2D)

2D MRI gradient-field lab: a linear gradient plus an RF pulse bandwidth select a real slice via the Larmor equation, spins across the sample dephase visibly, and a field-inhomogeneity slider shows the resulting slice-position artifact.

This 2D companion rebuilds the actual physics the 3D MRI-gradient scene only gestures at: a linear gradient turns position into Larmor frequency, an RF pulse of finite bandwidth selects a real band of that frequency axis, and a field-inhomogeneity slider demonstrates why a mis-shimmed scanner excites the wrong slice — with the excited-spin fraction, slice thickness and net transverse signal all computed live from the per-spin frequencies rather than animated for effect.

2D MRI gradient-field lab with a linear gradient and RF bandwidth driving real slice-selection physics (Δx = BW/(γ·G)), plus a field-inhomogeneity slider that reproduces the classic slice-position artifact.
