📡 IoT Smart Hive Monitoring and Equipment Asset Tracking
How Internet of Things sensors and Bluetooth beacon tracking are actually used in apiaries today, from weight and temperature monitoring to locating misplaced equipment across multiple sites.
A row of sensor-equipped hives reports live weight and thermal data while a Bluetooth gateway watches over scattered apiary equipment, marking each beacon-tagged item connected or lost as it moves in and out of range.
🔬 What It Demonstrates
Hive weight climbs or falls with the nectar flow trend, internal temperature is buffered against ambient swings by fanning bees, and equipment beacons flip between connected and lost signal as the gateway's Bluetooth range changes.
🎮 How to Use
Add or remove hives, set the nectar flow trend and ambient temperature, and adjust the gateway's beacon scan range. Pick a piece of equipment to trace a locator beam and its live distance from the gateway.
💡 Did You Know?
Remote hive scales are one of the most widely adopted IoT sensors in commercial beekeeping — a strong nectar flow can add several kilograms to a hive in a single day.
