Predator-Prey Evolution (2D)
2D canvas companion to the Lotka-Volterra coevolution lab: prey and predator populations cycle while the predator's attack rate itself evolves under selection — the Red Queen hypothesis, plotted live.
This 2D companion runs the same Lotka-Volterra coevolution model as the 3D original — prey grow logistically and get eaten, predators convert prey into offspring and die off, and the attack rate itself drifts under a fitness gradient plus random mutation — but draws it on a plain canvas: a time-series chart of prey, predator and attack-rate, and a phase-plane plot with live nullclines you can click to perturb the system directly.
Lotka-Volterra predator-prey dynamics with an evolving attack rate v, integrated on a fixed timestep; the phase-plane nullclines dH/dt=0 and dP/dt=0 are recomputed live from the current v and r.
