🧪 Kick Boulder Simulator (2D)
A side-view Canvas2D companion to the 3D Boulder Impact Lab, driven by the same mass, impulse and restitution physics: tune the kick force, launch angle, ground friction and bounciness, then read live speed, distance, spin and impact energy as the boulder flies, bounces and rolls to a stop.
The 3D Boulder Impact Lab uses a full rigid-body engine (Three.js rendering, cannon-es physics) so you can orbit a granite boulder as it's kicked across a quarry. This 2D companion strips the same mass (920 kg), the same impulse-from-force relation, and the same collision response down to a flat side view: gravity pulls the boulder along a parabola after the kick, it loses vertical speed on each ground bounce according to the bounciness slider, sheds horizontal speed to the ground-friction slider, and settles into a rolling-without-slipping spin before stopping — all numbers you can watch update live in the telemetry strip rather than needing to orbit a camera to judge them.
Side-view Canvas2D rig reusing the 3D original's mass, impulse-from-force formula and impact-energy calculation; adds explicit ground-friction and bounciness sliders since a flat view has no yaw axis to control, and reports live speed, distance, spin and impact energy as the boulder flies, bounces and rolls to rest.
