Autumn Syrup Ratio Lab (2D): Feeding Rate & Capping Speed
2D side-view hive comb: mix sugar-to-water ratio, feed type, ambient temperature and feed rate, and watch bees cap syrup into winter stores at different speeds and moisture levels.
This 2D companion drives the same feeding model as the 3D hive-cutaway lab: sugar-to-water ratio sets how much water must be driven off before a cell can be capped, ambient temperature gates bee activity, and feed rate controls how fast the feeder empties — watch the comb grid fill and cap from the bottom edges upward as bees shuttle between the feeder and the comb.
2D side-view comb-filling model: capping speed derives from the sugar:water ratio's water fraction, activity is clamped by ambient temperature, and fill rate scales with feed rate — the same formulas as the 3D original.
