Indri Canopy Chorus Lab (2D)
A Kuramoto phase-oscillator model of indri lemurs synchronizing their calls across the forest canopy: tune group size, territorial spacing, coupling strength and call-rate diversity and watch a real synchrony order parameter rise and fall.
Indri lemurs are known for territorial group calls that ripple into loose synchrony across the canopy. This companion swaps the 3D scene's decorative "animal lab" template for the actual mechanism implied by the title: a Kuramoto coupled-oscillator model, where each indri's call phase is pulled toward its acoustic neighbors' phase, and a real order parameter tracks how synchronized the chorus becomes.
Each indri is a phase oscillator θᵢ coupled to neighbors within an acoustic radius; the Kuramoto order parameter r = |(1/N)Σ e^(iθ)| measures live synchrony, and calls are logged whenever a phase wraps past 2π.
