📋 Scoring Colony Temperament

A 3D comb frame split into a docility/running test zone and a freeze-kill hygienic-behaviour assay: disturb the colony and watch the standardised scores update live.

A single comb frame shows two standardised behavioural-trait tests at once: a docility/running test on the left where disturbance drives live BS-style scores, and a freeze-kill hygienic behaviour assay on the right where a colony's cleaning speed is scored against the 24h/48h benchmark.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

How docility, running and hygienic behaviour are three distinct, separately scored traits — a colony can be calm but slow to clean brood, or defensive yet highly hygienic, which is exactly why breeders record all three.

🎮 How to Use

Pick a colony temperament line, raise or lower the disturbance to see docility and running scores respond, then set a hygienic removal rate and watch the freeze-kill patch clear toward the 95%-at-48h benchmark.

💡 Did You Know?

The freeze-kill assay is usually done with a section of comb dipped in liquid nitrogen or frozen overnight, then reinserted into the hive — colonies that clear ≥95% of the dead brood within 48 hours are classed as hygienic.

⚙ Under the hood

A 3D comb frame split into a docility/running test zone, where a moving smoker/probe drives live BS-style docility and running scores, and a freeze-kill hygienic behaviour assay grid whose cell removal rate you control against the 24h/48h benchmark.
