🟤 Propolis: From Hive Trap to Tincture
An interactive 3D bee-glue production line: a propolis trap seals up in the hive, is frozen and cracked into granules, then macerated in ethanol into a standardised tincture.
A three-stage 3D production line — a plastic trap sealed by bees, a freezer that cracks the trap into granules, and an ethanol jar that macerates those granules into a standardised propolis tincture.
🔬 What It Demonstrates
Trap slot width drives how fast bees seal the trap, freezer temperature sets granule purity, and ethanol strength plus maceration time (with optional daily agitation) determine how much resin dissolves versus how much insoluble wax settles out as sediment.
🎮 How to Use
Adjust the trap gap, freezer temperature, ethanol percentage and maceration days, and toggle agitation. Watch propolis accumulate on the trap, granules crack into the tray, and the jar's tincture darken as resin dissolves and wax sediment settles.
💡 Did You Know?
Because bees produce propolis defensively rather than as a harvestable surplus, cleaned propolis and its tinctures often command a far higher price per gram than honey from the same colonies.
