A tabletop honey-tasting flight: a jar, a dipper and a live sensory radar chart show how colour, viscosity, aroma release and flavour profile actually differ between honey varieties.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

Tilting the dipper pours honey back into the jar — thin varieties fall in a fast straight stream while thick ones buckle into visible coils, the real rope-coiling effect. Warming the sample speeds up the rising aroma vapour, and the radar chart redraws for each variety's sweetness, floral, fruity, woody and bitterness scores.

🎮 How to Use

Pick a honey variety, adjust serving temperature to see aroma intensity change, tilt the dipper to test viscosity, and toggle crystallisation to see grainy specks form in the jar. Drag to rotate, scroll to zoom.

💡 Did You Know?

Honey judges taste at room temperature — cold suppresses the volatile aromatics tasters rely on, while heat above roughly 40°C flattens flavour and can start to break down the honey's natural enzymes.
