🍯 Honey Quality Standards and Testing
An interactive 3D honey-testing bench: adjust moisture, storage temperature and time to watch HMF and diastase readings move and see whether the batch would pass UK/EU honey regulations.
An interactive lab bench where you set moisture content, storage temperature and storage time to see how HMF and diastase readings drift, whether the batch would pass UK/EU honey regulations, and how pasteurisation changes both.
🔬 What It Demonstrates
HMF accumulates and diastase activity decays together as heat and time increase — the same underlying chemistry, moving in opposite directions, that regulators use as a proxy for overheated or aged honey.
🎮 How to Use
Move the moisture, temperature and storage-time sliders and toggle pasteurisation. Watch the refractometer, HMF tube colour, and diastase dial respond, and check the pass/fail badge against real UK/EU thresholds.
💡 Did You Know?
Because both HMF and diastase respond to the same heat/time exposure, testing labs use them together: a honey with low diastase and high HMF is a strong sign it was overheated, even without knowing its history.
