Site a beginner's hive, expand it with honey supers as the colony grows, and scrub through a UK beekeeping year to see forage, flight activity, weather and feeding needs shift with the seasons.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

Hive siting (entrance orientation and wind shelter), seasonal colony population swings, and matching supers and feeding to what the colony actually needs at each point in the year.

🎮 How to Use

Drag the season slider from Spring to Winter, add supers as the colony builds up, rotate the entrance orientation and toggle the windbreak to watch the site score and wind streaks respond, then try the syrup feeder.

💡 Did You Know?

UK beginner guidance generally recommends a south-east facing entrance sheltered from the prevailing westerly wind — it gets bees flying earlier on cool mornings without exposing the colony to driving rain.

⚙ Under the hood

An interactive 3D beginner apiary where you site a Langstroth-style hive, add honey supers as the colony grows, orient the entrance and shelter it with a hedge, and scrub through a UK beekeeping year to see bee activity, forage bloom, sun path and feeding needs change with the seasons.
