πŸ“» Radio Wave Propagation (2D)

A top-down 2D schematic of how radio signals travel from a transmitter: ground wave hugging the Earth's curve, sky wave skipping off the ionosphere, and line-of-sight above the radio horizon.

This 2D companion computes the same propagation model as the 3D version β€” ground wave, ionospheric sky-wave skip and line-of-sight β€” and draws it as a labelled ray schematic instead of a 3D scene. Skip distance is 2 × F-layer height ÷ tan(elevation), and the Maximum Usable Frequency is the F-layer's critical frequency divided by sin(elevation), so you can watch skip zones grow and signals punch through the ionosphere in real time as you change band, angle and ionosphere state.

2D ray-schematic radio propagation lab with ground wave, sky wave and line-of-sight modes, driven by the flat-mirror skip-distance formula and MUF = critical frequency / sin(elevation).
