❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What is mysimulator.uk?
mysimulator.uk is a free collection of 1,000+ interactive science simulations that run entirely in your browser — physics, space, biology, chaos, mathematics and more, built with Three.js, WebGL and Canvas. This blog covers the devlog behind building them, technical deep dives, learning guides and simulation announcements.
Is mysimulator.uk free to use?
Yes. Every simulation and every blog post is free, with no account, paywall or sign-up required. The site is supported as an educational and open-source project, and content is licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Do I need to install anything to run the simulations?
No installation is needed. All simulations run directly in a modern browser using WebGL and Canvas 2D — just open the page and they start rendering at up to 60 FPS, on desktop or mobile.
How often is new content published on the blog?
New devlogs, spotlights and learning guides are published irregularly, usually alongside new "waves" of simulations — sometimes several times a month. The fastest way to catch every update is the RSS feed linked at the top of this page.
What do the different post types (Devlog, Spotlight, Learning, Deep Dive…) mean?
Devlog posts are behind-the-scenes development notes and release announcements. Spotlight rounds up simulations by theme. Learning guides teach the underlying science. Deep Dive and Behind the Sim posts explain the algorithms and code. Tips are for developers building similar projects, and Physics in Movies fact-checks the science in popular films.
Can I use the simulations in my classroom?
Yes — the simulations are built with education in mind and are used by teachers from secondary school through undergraduate level. See our Learning guides for classroom integration tips and curriculum alignment notes, including A Teacher's Complete Guide to MySimulator in the Classroom.
What license covers the content and simulations?
All content — simulations, articles and blog posts — is licensed under Creative Commons BY 4.0, meaning you're free to use, share and adapt it, including for commercial purposes, as long as you credit mysimulator.uk.
How can I get notified about new posts?
Subscribe to the RSS feed using any feed reader to get every new devlog, spotlight and learning guide as soon as it's published — no email or account needed.
Which browsers and devices are supported?
All modern browsers with WebGL support work, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on both desktop and mobile. Some of the more demanding 3D simulations run best on a laptop or desktop GPU, but most simulations are optimised to run smoothly on phones and tablets too.
Can I suggest a new simulation or blog topic?
Yes — suggestions are very welcome. Reach out via hello@mysimulator.uk with your idea, whether it's a simulation you'd like to see built or a topic you'd like covered in a devlog or learning guide.
