🍯 Bees, Honey and the Sacred
A 3D shrine of the sacred bee: a golden hive surrounded by six lit pedestals for Egyptian, Greek, Judaic, Christian, Hindu and Celtic bee-and-honey traditions.
A golden hive stands at the centre of a circular shrine ringed by six lit pedestals, one for each tradition in which bees and honey carried spiritual weight: Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Judaism, Christianity, Hindu tradition and the Celtic lands.
🔬 What It Demonstrates
Each pedestal carries a hand-drawn emblem and short lore text for its tradition. Selecting a tradition lights its beam, tints the hive's glow to its colour, and swaps in that culture's story of bees and honey.
🎮 How to Use
Pick a tradition from the dropdown, then adjust the bee swarm, honey glow and shrine rotation sliders. Toggle the sacred light beam on or off, and drag to orbit the shrine, scroll to zoom.
💡 Did You Know?
"Melissa," Greek for honeybee, was also a title given to priestesses at several oracle sites — one of many places across cultures where the hive became a model for sacred, orderly community.
