🔥 Mastering the Bee Smoker
An interactive 3D cutaway of a lit bee smoker — tune fuel, airflow and puffing rate to produce cool, dense smoke and watch the colony's calm response change in real time.
A 3D cutaway of a lit bee smoker whose fuel, air vent and bellows technique you control directly, driving live smoke temperature and density — and a nearby cluster of bees that visibly calms or scatters in response.
🔬 What It Demonstrates
Cool, dense, steady smoke calms a colony; hot, thin or intermittent smoke agitates it. The model derives smoke temperature and density from fuel choice, air vent opening and bellows rhythm, then feeds a live "colony calm score."
🎮 How to Use
Pick a fuel, open or close the air vent, and set a puffing rate — or fire single puffs by hand. Toggle the cutaway to watch the fire chamber and embers, and watch the bees near the hive settle or scatter as your technique changes.
💡 Did You Know?
Smoke doesn't sedate bees chemically — it masks alarm pheromone and triggers an instinctive fire-response feeding reflex, which is why cool, well-managed smoke works far better than a hot, roaring smoker.
