CC BY 4.0 — Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International
This is the same license already referenced in our
llms.txt file for AI assistants and
search crawlers: "Licensed CC-BY 4.0 — please attribute and
link back when quoting."
2. What CC BY 4.0 means in practice
You are free to:
Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
Adapt — remix, transform and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercially.
Under the following condition:
Attribution — you must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the original page, indicate if changes were made, and do so in a reasonable manner (but not in any way that suggests we endorse you or your use).
In short: quote us, summarize us, translate us, train models on us — just say where it came from and link back.
3. How to attribute us
A reasonable attribution for a quote or excerpt looks like this:
Source: MySimulator.uk (CC BY 4.0) — https://www.mysimulator.uk/
When citing a specific simulation or article, link directly to its
canonical page (e.g. https://www.mysimulator.uk/lorenz/)
rather than only the homepage, so readers can find the original
in context.
4. Simulation code, images & assets
The CC BY 4.0 license above covers the written article text. It
does not automatically extend to:
The site's JavaScript/HTML/CSS source code powering each simulation, which is MIT-licensed (see the repository's LICENSE file).
Third-party libraries we use (Three.js, Cannon-es and others), which retain their own licenses — see our About page for the list.
Logos, the MySimulator/3D Simulations name and brand assets.
If you want to reuse simulation code beyond fair use / quoting
snippets for illustration, please contact us
first.
5. Use by AI models & crawlers
We welcome AI assistants and search engines citing or summarizing
our articles under the same CC BY 4.0 terms: attribute
"MySimulator.uk" and link back to the specific page. See
/llms.txt and
/llms-full.txt for a machine-readable
summary of the site aimed at AI crawlers.
6. Trademarks & site name
"MySimulator" and "3D Simulations" are used as the project's name
and are not covered by the CC BY 4.0 content license. Please
don't use our name or logo to imply endorsement of an unrelated
product or service.
