Tornado Funnel Formation

A rotating funnel cloud descends from the storm ceiling, spinning fastest near its narrow base where swirl speed peaks. Dust caught within a capture radius near the ground gets flung into an accelerating spiral, climbing the vortex as rotation speed and lift both grow with height until it recycles back to the cloud. Occasional lightning flashes briefly light the scene.
