How this works
A 2D top-down/side sky is drawn as a procedural gradient that shifts with time-of-day and storm state. Rain and snow are particle systems advected by wind speed/direction and gravity; storm mode raises cloud cover, darkens the sky, and fires randomised lightning flashes that briefly relight the scene. Ground wetness accumulates while it rains and slowly dries, mirroring the 3D original's reflective-ground logic in a flat 2D readout.
