Nanowarming — Magnetic Nanoparticle Organ Rewarming

Cryopreserved organs are only useful for transplant if they can be rewarmed as carefully as they were frozen. This simulator models a vitrified organ seeded with iron-oxide nanoparticles: switch on an alternating magnetic field and every particle in the tissue dissipates heat directly, driving a near-uniform volumetric rewarming that a purely convective warm bath — heating from the outside in — cannot match. Tune the nanoparticle concentration and the field's frequency and amplitude to change how fast and how evenly the organ passes through the ice-nucleation danger zone, watch the live radial temperature profile, and compare against convective-only rewarming to see why the core-surface lag and thermal gradient it produces are the real threats to a real transplant organ.
