Steam Locomotive
A steam engine rolls along a straight rail track, its driving wheels turning at a rate matched to travel speed so no wheel slip occurs, while side rods oscillate and a particle-based smoke plume billows from the stack.
- 3 pairs of driving wheels + 1 pair of pilot wheels, radius 1.15
- Wheel angular speed = travel speed / wheel radius (rolling-without-slipping constraint)
- 200-particle GPU point-sprite smoke system with per-particle lifetime and drift
- Connecting rods oscillate in phase with wheel rotation
