Kite Flying — 2D Aerodynamics (2D)

This 2D side-view simulator flies a kite on a tether using real aerodynamic forces: wind speed and the kite's angle of attack set lift and drag through lift/drag coefficient curves that peak, then stall, past roughly 20 degrees, while the string continuously supplies whatever tension is needed to balance gravity, lift and drag at the chosen string length and ground angle. Drag the wind-speed, string-length, string-angle and angle-of-attack sliders and watch the kite settle into a new equilibrium position with live lift, drag, tension and altitude readouts, or let auto-trim hunt for the angle of attack that climbs highest in the current wind.
