Lunar Ice Prospecting: Neutron Spectrometer Mapping

This simulator flies a virtual epithermal-neutron spectrometer in a boustrophedon ground track over a procedurally generated lunar south-pole crater field, exactly the remote-sensing method missions like Lunar Prospector and LRO's LEND instrument use to find polar water ice without ever touching the ground. Hydrogen bound in ice moderates escaping neutrons, suppressing the local count rate; the simulator turns that suppression back into a live, noisy estimate of ice concentration for every surveyed cell, with the estimate sharpening as a cell is revisited. Orbital altitude, integration time and scan speed all trade coverage speed against measurement noise and spatial resolution, and a ground-truth toggle lets you check the surveyed estimate against the real hidden ice field underneath.
