Every litre of water on a long-duration space mission is too expensive and too heavy to resupply, so stations like the ISS run a closed-loop Water Processor Assembly that pushes reclaimed urine, sweat and cabin condensate through a fixed train of purification stages. This simulator models that train stage by stage: multifiltration beds strip particulates on a contact-time basis, a catalytic reactor oxidises dissolved organics with an Arrhenius-law rate that you control via reactor temperature, an ion-exchange bed adsorbs the last of the total organic carbon while slowly saturating along a breakthrough curve, and a mineral injector restores the calcium and magnesium the resin stripped out. Live readouts track total organic carbon after every stage plus final conductivity, and a pass/fail quality gate mirrors the potable-water spec the real hardware is held to.
