MOXIE: Mars Oxygen ISRU Electrolysis

MOXIE, the toaster-sized experiment riding on NASA's Perseverance rover, was the first demonstration of in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) on another planet: pulling CO₂ straight out of the thin Martian air and splitting it into oxygen using solid-oxide electrolysis. This simulator models the real electrochemistry behind that box — Nernst potential, temperature-dependent cell resistance, and Faraday's law converting electrical current directly into grams of O₂ per hour — while a live 3D stack shows CO₂ flowing in and O₂ (plus CO byproduct) flowing out at a rate that tracks the current in real time. Push the voltage and stack size toward the numbers a future crewed Mars mission would need, and watch CO₂ inlet flow become the hard ceiling on how much oxygen the reaction can actually make.
