Galaxy Collision & Merger

Two spiral galaxies drift together under simplified gravity, warp, and merge into a single glowing stellar mass. Each galaxy is built from 2,600 additive-blended point sprites placed along three logarithmic spiral arms with randomized noise offsets, colored by lerping a core hue into an arm hue. Every frame an inverse-square attraction pulls the two galaxy centers together, and as they close within ~260 units, tidal chaos jitter and velocity damping kick in to disrupt the spiral structure and blend the two point clouds into one. A soft radial-gradient canvas sprite gives each star its glow, and a separate 4,000-star background field plus exponential fog frame the scene.
