A Dyson sphere is a hypothetical megastructure built to capture a much larger share of a star's total energy output than a single planet ever could. Rather than assembling it all at once, swarms of autonomous robotic drones incrementally weld hexagonal collector panels onto a spherical lattice, gradually enclosing the star. Energy beams show completed panels already relaying captured power inward.
