Cosmic Nanotech: Scaling the Universe

Nanoscale manipulation is precise but short-ranged; space is vast and unforgiving of both delay and decay. This simulator visualizes what happens when a swarm of nanobots is asked to assemble a structure on a target far from its control node: every command takes real time to arrive, bounded by the speed of light, and the force it carries weakens exponentially the further it has to travel. Push the target out to interplanetary distances and watch the signal delay stretch and the received force collapse, even as decoherence noise scrambles the swarm's positions — a hands-on look at why autonomous on-board control, not live remote operation, is the only workable strategy at cosmic scale.
