Bit flips aren't the only thing cosmic rays do to spacecraft electronics — a heavy ion can also trigger single-event latchup, forward-biasing a chip's parasitic p-n-p-n thyristor structure into a low-impedance short that draws destructive current until power is cut. This 2D simulator fires a Poisson-distributed stream of ions at a 6x6 grid of dies, models each latchup event's current and accumulated thermal energy in real time on a live strip-chart, and lets you click into any die's own thyristor inspector while tuning a current-limiting protection circuit's trip threshold, response delay and damage budget to see the exact race between the breaker cutting power and the die cooking itself past its damage threshold.
