Galaxy Collision Dynamics (2D)

A restricted-three-body companion to the 3D flyby: two point-mass galactic cores are integrated from real Newtonian gravity while roughly 1,800 test-star particles ride along in each galaxy's own Keplerian disk, so the tidal tails, bridges and bound re-encounters you see are a direct consequence of the mass ratio, approach velocity and impact parameter you set — not a scripted animation.
