Exoplanet Transit Simulation (2D)

A flat, geometric model of the transit method: the planet sweeps along a straight chord in front of the star disc at a fixed sky-plane offset (the impact parameter). Brightness is computed each frame from the exact overlap area of the two circles — the same geometry real transit photometry pipelines fit to detect planets — with an optional quadratic limb-darkening correction.
