Faint meteor Bright fireball Radiant point

Meteor Shower Simulator (2D)

This 2D companion to the 3D meteor shower draws the shower as it actually looks from the ground: a flat night sky with meteors radiating outward from a single fixed point, each one's brightness computed from its randomized mass and your chosen entry speed using the same mass × speed³ ablation relationship real meteor astronomers use to estimate visual magnitude. Raise the hourly rate to recreate anything from a quiet sporadic night to a meteor storm, push the entry speed toward the fast end for showers like the Leonids, and drag the radiant's altitude and azimuth to see how its position in the sky reshapes every trail's foreshortening.
