Shape
Or draw your own closed shape directly on the canvas. The path is resampled to 512 points and transformed with a discrete Fourier transform.
Frequency table
Biggest circles first. Freq k is how many turns each circle makes per loop; amplitude is its radius; phase is where it starts.
Signal source
Bigger FFT = finer pitch resolution but slower response. Try a saw or square tone: you will see its whole harmonic ladder.
Microphone (optional)
Nothing here needs a microphone. If you allow it, your browser analyses your voice or an instrument live. Audio stays on your device, is never recorded or uploaded, and is never played back through the speakers.
Filtering is convolution
The output is the input convolved with the filter's impulse response (bottom left): each input sample launches a scaled copy of it, and the copies add up. Multiplying the spectrum by the response curve (top) is the same operation seen in the frequency domain. Drag on the response curve to move the cutoff.
