How it works

Fish appetite drifts cycle to cycle with water temperature, growth stage, recent feeding and stress — it isn't the same every day. A fixed-schedule feeder ignores that: it dispenses the same programmed amount over the same programmed time regardless of how eagerly the fish are actually striking at the surface. Whatever they don't eat sinks to the bottom, decomposes and degrades water quality.

A sensor-responsive feeder instead watches feeding-activity intensity — how hard the fish are hitting the surface — every instant it dispenses. It keeps feeding only while activity stays high and cuts off within moments of activity dropping off, so it tracks whatever the fish actually want to eat that cycle instead of a fixed guess.

Appetite — the fraction of a full ration the fish will actually eat this cycle, re-rolled every cycle.
Wasted — pellets that reach the bottom uneaten; they pile up visibly on the tank floor.
Water quality — falls as uneaten feed accumulates and decomposes, recovers slightly between cycles as filtration catches up.
