Quantum Zeno–Anti-Zeno Crossover in Double-Well Tunneling

A particle placed in the left pocket of a symmetric double-well potential tunnels coherently back and forth to the right pocket with a period set by the tunnel coupling J — until it is watched. This simulation renders the double-well landscape in 3D with an animated probability cloud that tracks the exact two-level master equation for continuous position measurement, letting you dial the dephasing rate γ from zero (free Rabi-like tunneling) through the anti-Zeno regime (measurement-enhanced decoherence, γ < 4J) into the quantum Zeno regime (γ > 4J, where the effective tunneling rate collapses toward zero and the particle freezes in its starting well). Live readouts track the well populations, the surviving coherence, and the effective decay rate Γ, matching the same physics behind real optical-lattice cold-atom Zeno experiments.
