Plasmon–Exciton Polariton: Strong Coupling & Rabi Splitting

When a plasmonic nanoparticle's localized surface plasmon is placed close enough to a molecular exciton, the two can exchange energy faster than either one decays — hybridizing into new light–matter quasiparticles called plasmon–exciton polaritons. This simulator solves the coupled damped-oscillator (non-Hermitian 2×2 Hamiltonian) model that describes this regime: adjust the coupling strength, the detuning between plasmon and exciton energies, and each mode's linewidth, and watch the upper and lower polariton branches trace out the classic anticrossing, the Rabi splitting and per-branch linewidths update live, the Hopfield coefficients show how "photonic" versus "excitonic" the lower branch is, and the extinction-spectrum panel renders the two-peak lineshape a real dark-field scattering measurement would show.
