Elitzur–Vaidman Bomb Tester (2D) — Real Complex-Amplitude Interferometer

This 2D companion to the 3D bomb tester swaps the high-efficiency N-stage quantum-Zeno scheme for the original 1993 Elitzur-Vaidman construction: a single Mach-Zehnder interferometer built from two genuine 50/50 beam-splitter unitary matrices acting on complex-valued path amplitudes. A live bomb in the lower arm performs a real which-path measurement — modeled as an actual quantum state collapse, not a scripted dice roll — that destroys the interference which normally keeps the dark detector silent. Fire single photons to watch the amplitude split, recombine or collapse stage by stage, or run thousands of fast trials and watch the counters converge on the textbook 50% explosion / 25% interaction-free-detection / 25% no-information split, computed purely from |amplitude|² at each beam splitter.
