Quantum Dot Vertical-Cavity Emission (2D)

This 2D companion strips the vertical microcavity down to the physics that actually produces the Purcell effect and vacuum Rabi splitting: a quantum dot exciton and a single cavity mode as two coupled oscillators. Every frame it diagonalizes the real 2×2 non-Hermitian coupled-mode Hamiltonian for your chosen detuning Δ and coupling g, plotting the computed polariton eigenenergies as detuning sweeps through zero — the real anticrossing of strong-coupling cavity QED — alongside a live emission spectrum and a Purcell-factor readout that quantifies the crossover from a single enhanced-decay peak to two resolved Rabi-split peaks.
