k-space Berry curvature Ω(kx,ky) Real-space edge/bulk density profile

Quantum Anomalous Hall Effect — k-space Berry Curvature

This 2D companion simulator computes the same magnetically doped topological-insulator physics as its 3D counterpart, but renders the two quantities that actually determine the topology instead of an orbiting scene: a live heatmap of the Berry curvature Ω(kx,ky) of the film's massive Dirac surface state across the 2D momentum plane, numerically Riemann-summed into the single-cone Berry integral (which converges to the textbook ±1/2 per Dirac cone), and a real-space plot of the resulting chiral edge state's exponential decay into the bulk with penetration depth ξ = ħvF/Δ. Toggle the film thickness and magnetization direction, tune the exchange gap and Fermi level, and watch the curvature map, the numeric Berry integral, the Chern number and the edge-decay profile all update together.
