NV-Center ODMR Level Diagram (2D)

This is a 2D rate-equation counterpart to the 3D diamond-lattice NV biosensor: instead of a stylized crystal you fly around, it shows the actual quantum-state populations of the ms=0/±1 spin triplet as a live energy-level diagram, driven by a real ODE integrated every frame. Drag the compass needle to apply a magnetic field and watch the two microwave resonances split apart on the spectrum plot below — the same optically-detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) physics used by diamond quantum magnetometers to sense magnetically-tagged biomarkers and the faint fields of firing neurons, but here you can also see how sweep speed itself distorts the signal, a dynamical effect a static formula can't show.
